The project involves an improvised composition played on a no-contact haptic interface. A special algorithm, implemented both on the hardware and software level, makes it possible to implement sound on a composition made up of standard audio parameters. A composer puts together not only the acoustic impulse but also a sensual signal, which is actually the result of concentrated sound, which occurs only in a single point of space, as a (immaterial) vibration. http://www.ciglar.mur.at/sonicbeams.html 6 December 2011 17.30 Reese Inman: Maine – New Media and Intermedia explorations Interview in English language Metropolitana Gallery, Gorizia Selected by: Gülsen Bal and BridA/Tom Kerševan, Sendi Mango, Jurij Pavlica Overview of new media and intermedia programs and activities at the Maine University, Orono, USA, followed by a discussion about the selection of presented works at the Pixxelpoint 2011 festival. 20.00 Dragan Živadinov and Miha Turšič: KSEVT, Cultural center of European space technologies Lecture in English language Tir Gallery, Mostovna Cultural Centre, Solkan Selected by: Gülsen Bal and BridA/Tom Kerševan, Sendi Mango, Jurij Pavlica KSEVT (Culturalization of Space + Composite of Science and Art) analyzes and develops the intellectual bases for development of the Cultural Space Program, whose main purpose is the culturalization of space and composite research and development. National and commercial space programs are the most complex social technological achievement of modern civilization, which influence the development of contemporary social-technological culture. However, due to national and commercially-oriented goals, the impact on culture is poorly conceived and merely consequential. A civilization apparatus is needed in order to enable the articulation and interweaving of space research and culture development – a cultural space program. Within the existing structure of the supraorganism of space programs, KSEVT recognizes itself as an organization developing the Cultural Space Program and promoting its classification among space and culture programs. 22.00: Teleskop Society: Under the stars – space observation (the event will be cancelled in the event of cloudy weather) Mostovna Cultural Centre, Solkan Selected by: BridA/Tom Kerševan, Sendi Mango, Jurij Pavlica The Teleskop Nova Gorica astronomical society, which brings together astronomical enthusiasts, was founded in 1994 and was the only astronomical society in the Northern Primorska region until 2009. The society’s purpose is mainly to popularize astronomy in this part of the country. Thus they have been working with elementary and secondary schools for a number of years, organizing various astronomy evenings and public observations at special events. In 2004 they began construction of an observatory at Voglarji. An observatory is a critical instrument, enabling serious observation and measurements. The Society’s new acquisition was revealed at the opening ceremony on 12 September 2010. 7 December 2011 17.30 Prométhée 2.0 Interview and audio-video performance Metropolitana Gallery, Gorizia Selected by: Lucide Association, Mostovna The Prométhée 2.0 project combines musical and visual speech. Live electronic music, vocals and painting merge into a unique improvisation act in which the figures of the painter and musician are intertwined. Sensors play a major role in the process, as they allow the mapping of motions and features, which makes it possible to manipulate sound. The different motions translated into images are the source of inspiration for the musician, who is guided by the random forms and colors on the canvas. 20.00 Blade Runner: The Final Cut, Ridley Scott (USA, 2007, 117 min) Cast: Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer, Sean Young, Edward James Olmos, M.
